Liverpool’s Virgil Van Dijk according to the Telegraph has agreed to sign a long-term contract.
Van Dijk joined Liverpool from Southampton as the record signing defender in the World in a fee worth £75 million. His presence at the Anfield club has seen a vass improvement in both his career and the transformation of Liverpool football club. He was voted as the PFA Player for last season, UEFA Champions League defender and European player of the year.
Negotiations over improved terms had been ongoing during the summer but sources in Holland have confirmed that Virgil will be staying in Merseyside after the two parties finally concluded talks. His current deal which runs out in 2023 have had two years addition whiles his £125,000 wage a week have been hit pushing him nearer to £200,000 a week to tie him to the six time European Champions until 2025.
Liverpool have won the UEFA Champions League and Super Cup with the Dutchman. They were runners up to Manchester City after missing last season’s Premier League trophy by a point.
