MTN MOMO CUSTOMERS CAUTIONED TO BE EXTRA VIGILANT OVER FRAUDSTERS

Customers of Mobile Telecommunications giant; MTN have been cautioned to beware of fraudsters when engaged in transacting money on their mobile phones.

Mobile Money fraudsters have been rampant in Ghana causing grief and misery to merchants and customers through foul means. Although MTN are putting measures to halt this act yet customers advice cannot be out of the equation.

The Acting Senior Manager for General Trade in charge for South, East, Volta and Oti Regions of MTN, Mr. Mohammed Yakubu sent the message of caution from the MTN annual editor’s forum for media personnel organized by the company in the Eastern Region.

He also called on to customers to be wary not to fall under the prey of Mobile Money fraudsters in order to save them from losing money. The rampant increment of swindlers have led to a lot of people loosing hope in the company’s technological aspect of mobile money.

According to the Acting Senior Manager, tough measures including the reintroduction of allowing cash out, blocking of agents wallet for repeated cash out attempts, introduction of agents ID cards and QR Codes to curb the activities of fraudsters and protect customers of the company.
