AHWIAA OVERSEAS ASSEMBLY OF THE CHURCH OF PENTECOST INSTALLS A NEW TAXI STATION

The Church of Pentecost, Overseas Assembly in the Ahwiaa District; New Tafo Area have installed a new bus stop at the Ntaamu taxi station in the Nana Appiah suburb, Kumasi – Ahwiaa on Friday.

The project was done as part of the Church’s Vision 2023 statement outdoored by the Chairman of the Church of Pentecost, Apostle Eric Nyamekye with the vision of seeing a church where members go to possess their nations by transforming every worldview, thought and behavior with values, principles and lifestyles of the Kingdom of God and thereby turning many people to Christ.

The yellow and Blue structure had a leather seater laid within which could contain 10 people with an extra been housed whiles standing. It’s roof beard the inscription of the Church of Pentecost “Overseas Assembly – Ntaamu,” and a yellow-sprayed metal in the Church’s colors, which reads John 3:16 and Matthew 11:28.

The project was initiated by Rev. Agyemang Badu, District Pastor of the Assembly with the purpose of providing shelter for passengers awaiting for cars to their destinations and pedestrians found wanting when there is a heavy downpour at certain times.

“One of the core vision of the Chairman on behalf of the Church is to support the community in areas of needs. This Bus Stop designed by the Overseas Assembly in the Ahwiaa District will provide a cover for drivers, passengers and individuals as a means for the Church also to win souls for God,” Pastor Agyemang Badu said.”

The Area Head of New Tafo, Apostle Samuel Antwi dedicated the Bus Stop to the Ntaamu Community through the Assembly Man, Hon. Enoch Agyemang in the midst of the entire congregation at the Ntaamu Station. Speaking on the grounds of the presentation, Apostle Samuel advised the Assemblyman to make sure the edifice was well attended to in order to serve the purpose at which it was created. He directed the community representative to make sure to maintain the seater and drive away children from wrecking the place.

“Make sure to maintain this place especially from children and even adults with bad intentions. Avoid attaching gums on the seater and keep the place tidy,” he said.

The new Tafo Area Head updated the congregation and a section of community members on the Church’s Environmental Care campaign. He educated the people on the need to keep the environment tidy.

The Environmental Care Campaign as part of the Vision 2023 is for the Church to focus on attitudinal change as it highlights on some unhealthy practices that contribute to environmental degradation such as open defecation, noise pollution, improper disposal of waste, poor handling of pests and domestic animals, and unfriendly environmental-means of livelihood.

He advised members to get involved in the cleanup exercises organized by their various Local Assembly to help resolve sanitation issues in the country.

The Assemblyman, Hon. Enoch Agyemang acknowledged the Local Assembly for the work done and on behalf of Nana Appiah, (chief of Ntaamu), the Municipal Chief Executive and the Kwabre Member of Parliament thanked the Church of Pentecost, Ahwiaa Overseas for the work done.

“God Bless the Church of Pentecost for the beautiful work done. I really appreciate your determination to put up this wonderful station for us. I will advise the general community to help maintain it. What has been done is not for the benefit of the Taxi drivers nor the members of the Church. No. the entire nation will benefit from it,” he said.

He preached against attaching funeral posters to the structure and cautioned the public to desist from such. Hon. Enoch challenged other churches to be of importance to their community and help promote its growth.

The drivers appreciated the Local Assembly for their kind gesture towards the community. They dared other denominations to follow the Church of Pentecost’s example and be of great service to their community.
