KIDNAPPED CANADIAN WOMEN RESCUED AS GHANA REMAINS SAFE

Two Canadian women abducted in Ahodwo,Kumasi last week have been rescued this morning according to a statement released by the Ministry of Information.

The statement signed by the Minister of Information; Hon. Kojo Nkrumah revealed that the National Security Operatives in the early hours of Wednesday 12 June, 2019 completed an operation which successfully rescued the two (2) Canadian women recently abducted in the Ashanti Region.

According to MyNewsGh.com, The Ghana Police Service in a statement signed by Director of Public Affairs ACP David Klu revealed that the incident happened at Ahodwo, Kumasi Royal Golf Club, at 8.25pm on 4 June 2019. It is gathered that the driver of the vehicle used for the kidnapping who is a mechanic and one other person have since been arrested and are assisting the security agencies to unravel the identity of the others.

A tweet by the Canadian government to alert it's citizen read, “#Ghana: violent crimes, including armed robbery and kidnapping, may occur. Be aware of your surroundings and avoid walking alone or displaying signs of wealth. Ensure that windows and doors in your residence are secured”

In due of this, the Information Minister in his statement assures all foreigner that "Ghana remains safe".
